IFFI 52nd awards ceremony will starts with The King of All the World (El Rey de Todo El Mundo)

Goa: The 52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) awards ceremony will open on 20th November with The King of All the World (El Rey de Todo El Mundo) by Carlos Saura. IFFI awards ceremony will conclude on 28th November 2021 in Goa. The opening ceremony to be hosted by Karan Johar and Manish Paul will be aired live on DD India and DD National channels on 20 November 2021.

51st edition was held in hybrid format that combines online and face-to-face participation BRICS Film Festival will be held alongside main festival. The films from BRICS nations, namely Brazil, Russia, South Africa, China and India are showcased. These five countries will be ‘country of focus’ in the 52nd edition of the festival.

In 2021 festival, on the occasion of the birth centenary of Satyajit Ray, the Directorate of Film Festivals will pay tribute to him through a ‘Special Retrospective’. Lifetime Achievement award, in recognition of the auteur’s legacy, was named as ‘Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award’ from 2021. In this edition for the first time, streaming video platforms Netflix, Amazon Prime, Zee5, Voot and Sony Liv will participate in series of physical and virtual events.
