Chennai: Nearly 150 employees of Foxconn’s production unit were hospitalized after a bout of food poisoning at Foxconn’s dormitories on Sunday. The incident of food poisoning at Foxconn’s where a majority of workers lives.

By knowing the food poisoning news the relatives of the workers staged a protests and blocked a key Chennai-Bengaluru highway for several hours, said a police official. According to the police sources, nearly 70 women and 22 men have been detained since Saturday for blocking highway.

The Police detained a number of people for blocking highways in a protest against food poisoning incident at a Foxconn India unit, which makes iPhones for Apple Inc.
