AP Minister Mekapati Gautam Reddy (50) passes away due to cardiac arrest

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Industries Minister Mekapati Gautam Reddy (50) passes away at Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad due to cardiac arrest on Monday morning. He was admitted in Apollo Hospital due to heavy cardiac stroke.

He returned from Dubai Expo to Andhra Pradesh on Sunday after one week. Previously he suffered with Covid – 19 and he recovered from Covid – 19. Medical experts said that the severe cardiac stroke is similar in the post Covid – 19 symptoms due to the lack of improper Covid – 19 treatments.

Mekapati Gautam Reddy born on November 2nd, 1971 in Brahmanpally village, Marripadu mandal of Nellore district. He studied M. Sc from Manchester University in England. He started political career from Atmakur constituency in Nellore district in 2014 as the candidate YSRCP. He was elected to AP Assembly from Atmakur constituency twice in 2014 and 2019.

He was inducted as a Minister in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cabinet for the portfolios of IT & Industries in 2019. He was survived with wife and two daughters. His father Mekapati Raja Mohan Reddy is a former MP from Nellore parliamentary constituency.
