CM YS Jagan announced exgratia Rs Two lakhs to the deceased persons in road accident

Chittoor: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed grief sorrow and announced an exgratia of Rs Two Lakhs to each person who died in the accident and Rs 50K to the injured person in the bus accident on Saturday night near Tirupati.

Eight persons were killed and 44 others suffered injuries when a bus carrying 52 passengers fell into a 50 feet gorge in Bhakarapeta ghat road in Chittoor district. The incident took place at around 10:30 pm on Saturday when the passengers travelling in the bus are on their way to attend a marriage engagement function at Tiruchanur Padmavati Temple.

The group of 52 persons hailed from Dharmavaram in Anantapur district had started to attend an engagement function. When the bus crossed the Bhakarapeta ghat road and moving towards Tirupati it fell into gorge due to over speeding.

Passersby informed to Chandragiri police. Chandragiri Police rushed to the spot and taken up rescue operation. A team of police, Fire Safety have reached the spot and lifted the passengers from the gorge. The injured were shifted to SVR Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati. Tirupati Urban SP Ch Venkata Appala Naidu visited Ruia hospital and inquired about the incident with the injured.

Chittoor Collector M Hari Narayanan instructed the officials to provide quality treatment to the injured at the hospital. State Panchayat Raj and Rural Development minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy inquire on the incident and he is going to visit Ruia hospital.
