Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for IT and Municipal Administration KTR and Wipro founder Chairman Azim Premji formally inaugurated Wipro’s soap manufacturing unit at Maheshwaram on Tuesday.

Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy also attended the event. Wipro will manufacture soft-touch fabric conditioners, along with Santoor soaps, at this State-of-the-art unit in Maheshwaram. The unit has the capacity to produce 700 Santoor soaps per minute, company representatives said. The company also announced that this is the first time in the country that it has started producing soaps so fast. KTR said the unit would employ 900 people, 90% of whom are locals.
