Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy suggested the Tollywood Film delegation to move the film industry from Hyderabad to Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.

YS Jagan asked Tollywood stars and directors to shift their base to Vizag and offered to provide housing plots and land for the construction of studios. He appealed to them to transform Vizag into a hub of the film industry as the city has pleasant weather and other amenities. CM pointed out that Tollywood is getting more revenue from AP than Telangana. Similarly, AP population is also more than Telangana and it has more theaters.

Let’s create an area like Jubilee Hills in Vishakhapatnam. Those who are interested in setting up studios will also be provided with lands if they are planning. Vishakhapatnam is the largest city in our state and it can compete with Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, he added.

It is possible, if we all come together, if we think of Vishakhapatnam as our own city, if we all go there. Ten years, fifteen years, or twenty years, if not today, in the long run, Vishakhapatnam can be on par with other metro cities of the south. The Tollywood Film delegation comprising Megastar K Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, Ali, Posani Krishna Murali, R Narayana Murthy and directors SS Rajamouli, Koratala Shiva called on the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his camp office in Tadepalli on Thursday. They met CM seeking his intervention in resolving some pending issue in film industry. Tollywood Film delegation thanked CM YS Jagan, after the meeting here after, he assuring to resolve the problems of Tollywood.
