Political parties in various States insults Governors in the Assemblies

Hyderabad: The controversial behaviour of the opposition parties and ruling parties in various State Assemblies on the Governors address in Assembly joint sessions turned as a symbol of insulting Governors.

            AP Assembly, West Bengal Assembly and Telangana Assembly on Monday witnessed rude behaviour of the political party leaders on the Governors address in the budget session of 2022-23.

Telangana Government avoided on technical grounds of the customary address by the Governors speech in the budget session in the Assembly on Monday. Telangana Governor Tamilisai expressed her dissatisfaction on the issue and she said that the women in higher positions also face discrimination from the dominating men wing. She said these words at the meeting held at Telangana Raj Bhavan on the eve of International Women’s Day. Because of dispute with BJP at Centre the ruling TRS party ignored the Governor’s address in the budget session in the Assembly.

Three BJP MLAs Etela Rajender, Raja Goud and Raghunandan Rao staged protest in the Assembly for not providing Governor’s address in the Assembly. TRS Government suspended these three MLAs for the entire budget sessions.

In Andhra Pradesh Assembly, TDP MLAs and MLCs unruly behaviour in the floor, at the time Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan address in the joint budget session in the Assembly. TDP representatives torn the paper of the Governor’s speech and thrown on the Governor, shouting against Governor and then they walked-out of the Assembly. Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan continued his speech amidst the unruly behaviour and shouting of the TDP members.

AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy urged the opposition legislators to be respect to the Governor and listen to his speech; we have to respect him as elderly man on the basis of his age.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamatha Banerjee requested the Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar to address the budget session 2022-23 in the Assembly on Monday. Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar is ready to leave the Assembly without delivering his customary speech due to the agitation of the BJP MLAs on the post local body election riots in the State.

At that time Chief Minister Mamatha Banerjee and the TMC MLAs requested the Governor with folded hands please deliver the customary speech in the Assembly, otherwise this causes a constitutional crisis. Later, Governor Dhankhar read the first page and last page last lines of the budget speech. There is a big lapse between the Chief Minister and Governor since last two years.
