We want justice: Rayalaseema Intellectual Forum staged a rally in support of three capitals for AP

Tirupati: A large number of students, women and the citizens of Tirupati participated in a rally in support of the State Government’s proposed three Capitals raising slogans we want justice. On the call of organization Rayalaseema Intellectual Forum for a rally and public meeting on Thursday, the people of Tirupati spontaneously responded the call of Rayalaseema Intellectual Forum and staged a huge rally within hours.

The people spontaneously participated in the rally to express their aspiration of development of Rayalaseema, Kurnool which is judicial capital for Rayalaseema through the proposed three capitals by the State Government. The rally was organized a day before a public meeting of Amaravathi farmers, who are demanding for one capital for the State at Amaravathi only.

The RIF is backing the State Government’s decision to create three capitals i.e. Amaravathi, Kurnool and Visakhapatnam. Large number of students from various colleges participated in the rally which passed through various parts of the Tirupati. The participants of the rally raised slogans of we want justice; the participants were carrying a banner declaring support for De – centralization of development.

Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday allowed Amaravathi farmers to organize the public meeting on December 17th. The Court granted permission for the meeting subject to certain conditions. The organizers were directed to hold the meeting from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and follow Covid-19 protocol.

Rayalaseema Hakkula Sadhana Samithi, a group fighting for the rights of Rayalaseema region, wanted to organize a public meeting on the same day but the Court made it clear that two meeting cannot be allowed on same day and suggested it to hold the meeting on some other day.
