Bengaluru: A Bengaluru Court ordered to block the Congress’s Twitter account temporarily, on basis of complaint by the MRT Music representative. MRT Music representative M Naveen Kumar filed a complaint against Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi and other two Congress leaders allegedly for playing songs from the movie KGF-2 at the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
The music company representatives said in their complaint the Congress leaders used the KGF-2 movie songs at the Bharat Jodo Yatra campaign. Congress has violated copyright laws, during the Bharat Jodo (unite India) yatra that travelled across Karnataka last month before moving to Telangana.
The Court also ordered temporary blocking of the Bharat Jodo Yatra campaign’s Twitter account. In its order, the Court said the music firm showed a CD in which the original copyrighted version was compared with the illegally synchronized version. The Court said the material available shows the music firm would be put to irreparable injury and such actions can encourage piracy.
The Yashwanthpur police issued FIR on the complaint based on the music company, the police in FIR said that Congress leader Jairam Ramesh tweeted two Yatra videos that used popular songs from KGF-2 without permission.
