YSR Kalyana Mastu, Shaadi Thofa Schemes Prevents the Child Marriages: YS Jagan
Vijayawada: YSR Kalyana Mastu and YSR Shaadi Thofa schemes are the revolutionary steps taken by the government to prevent the child marriages in poor families, said AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He launched YSR Kalyana Mastu and YSR Shaadi Thofa schemes on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion YS Jagan said that these schemes are not only preventing the child marriages, and also the parents encourage their children for education. The AP Government announced its eligible conditions of YSR Kalayana Mastu and YSR Shaadi Thofa. The applicants should have passed 10th class, that both the bride and bride groom will be educated.
The minimum age for a bride is 18 and groom age is for 21, the applicants would be able to pursue college education also, Jagan pointed out. Reiterating that education is the only valuable asset that could change the fate of a person, his family and the society, he termed it an invaluable instrument in eliminating poverty.
The schemes would benefit SC, ST, BC, minorities and construction workers. He explained that eligible candidates could apply within 60 days of their marriage at village and ward secretariats, he said. The amount would be credited quarterly, after scrutiny.
