
JNU Students Protest March Turns Violent: Police Lathi Charge
New Delhi: The police detained nearly 100 students of JNU and some students are injured in the lathi charge on Monday. The students took a march towards parliament house on the first day of winter session by demanding to rollback the hiked feeses.
The students exhibiting placards and chanting slogans on the roads, seeking to get the attention of the parliament regarding their demand. The protesting students sat at the road outside safdurjung thomb demanding the release of those detained and meeting with the officials of the HRD ministry. The protest ended around 07:30pm and the protesting student returned peacefully said Southern range joint police commissioner Devesh Chandra Srivastava. Traffic was affected in some parts of lutyens, Delhi as the students marched towards parliament. The police lathi charged to disburse them in which several students sustained injuries.
