CAA protests turn into violence in Bihar
Patna: Angry protesters protest turned into violent in Patna and other districts of Bihar on Saturday were Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) called for a day long bandh demanding to scrap the CAA and NRC.
Private and commercial vehicles were vandalized by protesters in Patna and other districts in Bihar. Protesters in Patna and in some districts disrupted rail routes. RJD supporters took off their shirts and used buffaloes to block the highway in Darbhanga and Vaishali. The protesters also blocked the Mahatma Gandhi road bridge over Ganga which connects Patna with Northern Bihar.
Five opposition parties supported the bandh called by RJD including Congress and Left on Saturday. RJD leaders Tejashwi Yadav led the protest march from his party’s headquarter to Dak Bungalow. “I salute JMU students for raising their voice aggressively against CAA which is unconstitutional and against humanity. This act divisive character of the BJP”, he criticized.
