Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy fulfilled his promise by disbursing pensions on the first day of every month to the old age pensioners, physically handicapped and other pensioners.

The Panchayat Raj department distributed 48 lakh and above pensioners on March 1^st, with a sum of Rs. 1360 crores. The Panchayat Raj department distributed the pensions through the village volunteers, ward volunteers and with the village secretariat employees. All these employees started this distribution on Sunday (March 1^st) from 06:00am onwards and completed the distribution nearly 90% upto the evening.

It is a first kind of service in the country, where the pensions are delivered at the door step to the pensioners.
