
Congress alleged BJP kidnapped 14 MLAs in MP
Bhopal: The Congress leaders accused the BJP kidnapped 14 Congress MLAs to destabilize its Government in Madhya Pradesh. The Congress leaders called it as “Operation Holi”.
The senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh alleged that the BJP was trying to bribe MLAs of his party by offering Rs. 25 to 35 crores. And also alleged that on Tuesday evening some MLAs supporting the Congress Government camping at a five star hotel in Gurgaon in Delhi, he said. There also rumors spread that four MLAs, Hardeep Dang, Raghuraj Kansana and Bisahulal Singh (Congress) and an Independent MLA Shera Bhaiya are staying at a five star hotel at Karnataka. Congress leaders in Delhi accused the BJP of attacking it “State by State” and making attempts to topple its Government closer to elections to the Rajya Sabha or upper house of the Parliament.
Around 2 am on Wednesday, one MLA Ramabai came out of ITC Grand Bharat with her bags, escorted by Congress Ministers including Digvijay Singh’s son. Ramabai is a suspended MLA of Mayawati’s BSP. The Congress called it a rescue but the MLA did not endorse it. The Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that 14 MLAs were kidnapped. The MP Government stopped mafias, had been going on for 15 years. They thought they will be behind the bars, he said. He also questioned to the BJP leaders please tell who took the 15 MLAs to Manesar (Gurgoan) in a special chartered plane?
Madhya Pradesh BJP leader Narottam Mishra rejected the allegations. They should think why people are so angry that they don’t want to stay with them, he said. Ramabai denied Congress allegations, she also made it clear that she will be with CM Kamal Nath. She also said that if CM wants to make me a Minister I will be with him. The Kamal Nath government has 120 MLAs, four over the majority mark of 116 in the 230-member assembly. Out of these, 114 are from the Congress, two from the BSP, one from the Samajwadi Party and four independents. If four members go, the government will be left with 116. The BJP has strength of 107 MLAs. Two seats in the assembly are vacant.
