Hyderabad: Telangana Government made mask wearing to face is a mandatory for people while stepping out to combat the spread of Covid- 19. In a detailed two page advisory, the Telangana Government said it had updated the earlier advisory of “Masks only for the sick” to mask on after taking the opinions of medical experts and scientific community.

Covid- 19 is droplet infection that spreads through droplets while sneezing, coughing and talking. Therefore a face mask will protect people from inhaling the infected droplets, the advisory said. Telangana Medical & Health & Family Welfare Department said in a tweet “Wear simple face masks whenever you go outside to slow the spread of / Covid- 19. Use any cotton material like handkerchief and piece of cloth and prepare it as a face mask to cover your nose, mouth and chin.

Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Mumbai, Leah and Odisha had already made it mandatory for all to wear face masks in public. The Delhi Government announced that those who are not wearing masks in going outside will be fined Rs. 200 for three times and later on the fine will be increased to Rs. 500. The same is implementing in Odisha also. The Andhra Pradesh Government imposed Rs. 1000 fine who are not wearing masks in the red zone area Varavakatta and Ramreddypeta in Guntur district since a day ago.
