23 foreign Tableeghi Jamaatis sent to temporary jail in Lucknow

Lucknow: 23 foreign nationals who attended Tableeghi Jamaat congregation were arrested on Saturday night in Lucknow after they completed their quarantine period. They were produced before a Magistrate, they were sent for 14 days custody.

There were four women have been kept in a college campus in the old city area that has been converted into a temporary jail. All these foreigners who were first apprehended in Lucknow on March 31st had taken shelter in three Mosques in Kaiserbagh, Madiaon and Kakori areas of the city.

The arrested foreign nationals six belongs to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan were found seeking shelter at Markaz Mosque in Kaiserbagh area, seven Bangladesh nationals including four women were seen at Makwa Mosque in Madiaon. Again ten more Bangladeshis were arrested at Jama Masjid at Palia area of Kakori.

All these were quarantined at Lok Bandhu Hospital in Aashina. But none of them tested positive for the Covid- 19 infection.
