Vijayawada: The AP Government conferred the status of chief justice of High Court on AP Lokayukta Justice P. Lakshman Reddy on Wednesday. The government released a GO in this effect on May 13, 2020, eight months after he assumed the office of AP Lokayukta. In Fact, the AP Lokayukta will have the status of a High Court Chief Justice and he/she is entitled to all the pay perks on par with a CJ.

However, the AP administration fail to notify this in the initial appointment letter issued on September 09 in 2019 and it took eight months to rectify the problem and accord the CJ status on Justice Lakshman Reddy.
