
One Lakh Gorkhas Names Deleted From the NRC: Mamatha
Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamatha Benarjee expressed anger on the NRC [National Research of Citizenship] list in Assam. She alleged in her tweets on Sunday said that the names of one lakh Gorkhas have been deleted of the first list, CRPF and other Jawans family members of Former President of Fakhruddin Ahmed.
The final NRC list published by the government has left out 19 lakh people in the state. These non listed citizens have to prove they are Indian Citizens, she added. The months long project of NRC to delete the names of illegal migrants from Bangladesh.
The political parties including BJP critizing the NRC list that it was conspiracy to keep the Hindu’s out. The TMC has been one of the most voracious critics of the citizens list. To establish citizenship, the people of Assam had to furnish the proof of residence prior to before march 1971.
When Hundreds of Thousands of people of Bangladesh entered in Assam, as Bangladesh split from Pakistan. In the final list of NRC published on Saturday. 19 lakh people were not found their names in the list.
Assam minister and the BJP leader in the North East Himantha Biswa Sharma in his tweet said that the names of many Indian Citizens who migrated from Bangladesh as refuses prior to 1971 have not been included in NRC, because authority refused to accept refuses certificate.
Tarun Gogoi Former Chief Minister of Assam said that BJP is crying, who is responsible for the publish of NRC list. The state BJP government is responsible for the NRC list which has prepared. The government has said it will not be declared the people as foreigner’s immediately, which names are not included in the NRC list. Government also clarified that they will have the option of appealing to the foreigners, tribunals and the courts.
