Modi launches “Swamitva” property cards in seven states
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged that the opposition was anti- development and the reforms have discomfited those who has benefitted from the middleman system. Prime Minster Narendra Modi launched the physical distribution of ‘Swamitva’ Property Cards through video conferencing, in New Delhi on Sunday.
The Swamitva Scheme launched in seven states in a first phase. The states are UP, MP, Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Karnataka. Modi interacted with the Swamitva beneficiaries via video conference. These beneficiaries are from 763 villages across six states, including 346 from Uttar Pradesh, 221 from Haryana, 100 from Maharashtra, 44 from Madhya Pradesh, 50 from Uttarakhand and two from Karnataka. PM Modi interacted with many beneficiaries of the Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SWAMITVA) scheme.
Speaking on the occasion he said the opposition for its criticism of the farm laws and other issues, saying it was doing so for the sake of opposition and taking recourse to “Uncouth language”, perhaps a reference to Congress Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks calling the PM a ‘Coward’. Modi in his address said an interesting backdrop of Socialist icon Jai Prakash Narayan and son stalwart Nanaji Deshmukh seen side by side. Modi recalled both leaders and said JP’s vision was central to Deshmukh’s rural empowerment campaign.
The country has started recognizing the people who are involved in looting the country. He also said these people are blindly opposing everything. They are not concerned about either poor or village or country. These people want to stall the development, he said. The Swamitva program will allow lakh property holders to download their property cards through an SMS link delivered on the mobile phones. This would follow by physical distribution property cards by the respective State Governments, he said.
Dedicating the launch of the scheme to the two leaders, Modi said the mammoth scheme was being launched on a day which was the birth anniversary of both who were conferred Bharat Ratna. Stepping up attack on opposition parties, Modi said, “Keep the people of villages and poor deprived of facilities has been the basis of the politics of some. These days, these people are also having a problem with the historical reforms that have been made in the agriculture sector”.
