
Mamatha Banerjee took oath as CM: first priority is to tackle Covid – 19 in the State
Kolkata: Mamatha Banerjee took oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal for the third consecutive term on Wednesday at Raj Bhavan at 10.45 am. West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar administered the oath with Mamatha Banerjee at a function at Raj Bhavan.
Mamatha Banerjee took oath in Bengali language. After taking the oath Mamatha Banerjee told to the Governor her first priority is to curb the Covid – 19 situations in the State and the second priority is Law and Order in the State.
Governor Jagdeep Dhankar suggested Mamatha after taking the oath; see the Law and Order situation in the State as the first priority, after the post – election clashes. He also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi also have asked him about the post – election violence and Law and Order situation in the State.
The CM replied that now this movement our Government has formed our first priority is to tackle the Covid – 19 situations in the State. The post – election clashes in the State are under the EC’s administration in the State. Limited VVIPs are invited for oath ceremony at Raj Bhavan due to the Covid – 19 protocols.
Mamata Banerjee wore simple tradition Bengali clothes and she has maintained a publicly austere lifestyle and avoiding luxuries. Mamatha Banerjee won the hearts of the people of Bengal with her simple lifestyle and her Government functioning for the welfare of SC/ ST and Minorities in the State gave a thumping majority to her party TMC with a mandate of 213 seats in the West Bengal Assembly.
