Firozabad: SRK College Head of the History department professor Shaharyar Ali was sent to judicial custody, on the allegedly made derogatory remarks against Union Minister Smriti Irani on Facebook.

Firozabad Additional Session Court Judge Anurag Kumar sent judicial custody, after professor surrendering in the Sessions Court. The professor interim bail plea cancelled by the Additional Session Judge and sent him to jai.

Firozabad Police filed a case against the professor in March for an alleged obscene Facebook post against the Minister.
