BJP vote chor and chakri chor: Mamatha Banerjee accused

Kolkata: CM Mamatha Banerjee accused the BJP as vote chor and chakri chor in the Assembly on Thursday. Five BJP MLAs were suspended from Bengal Assembly on Thursday, abducting the Chief Minister Mamatha Banerjee’s speech on Bengali language.

Treasury benches MLAs and opposition BJP MLAs were engaged in heated verbal words caused to a near standstill the proceedings. CM Mamatha Banerjee in her address at the Assembly alleged that the BJP is indulges in stealing votes. “BJP is a vote chor”, they have stolen people’s mandate to win elections, she said.

BJP legislators raised protest on the suspension of leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari for the special session of the Assembly. Speaker suspended him on 2nd September. The TMC members triggering fierce counter to the BJP MLAs. As the ruckus continued Speaker Biman Banerjee suspended the BJP Chief Whip from the remaining assembly session caused the chaos in the Assembly.

As chaos gripped the House amid walkouts and marshals dragging out MLAs, slogans like vote chor BJP and chakri chor (job thief) TMC reverberated inside the assembly. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the BJP members traded accusations, with both sides calling it a black day for West Bengal’s democracy.

CM Mamtha Banerjee said that the BJP MLAs are behaving like an evil force, just like Ravana. The security personnel formed a human barricade between two party MLAs to stop the confrontation between them.

CM stopped TMC MLAs who are going aggressively towards BJP MLAs. Mamatha Banerjee continued the session without adjourning due this interruption. The CM Mamatha accused the BJP of fostering linguistic terrorism and being anti-Bengal.

You are against the Bengali language, but we are not against any language, she said. CM said that you have in the power you won’t have national anthem Jana Gana Mana. You have called Bengali people as anti-national, they will not forgive you.

After conclusion of CM’s speech the BJP members walked out from the house. The house passed the resolution with voice of vote in the absence of BJP MLAs.
