
Police lodged an FIR against Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress Munmun Dutta for racist remark
Indore: Police registered FIR against television actor, Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame Munmun Dutta for allegedly using an objectionable word against a Scheduled Caste community. Police sources on Wednesday said that Munmun Dutta using a particular word against the community had gone viral on social media recently.
The police registered a case based on the complaint of Akhil Bharatiya Balai Mahasangh President Manoj Parmar against Munmun Dutta under relevant sections of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, said the police source.
Parmar in his complaint said that the use of a racist word by Dutta in her video has hurt the sentiments of the Scheduled Caste community, especially the Valmiki community. She has already apologized for her controversial remarks even before the case was filed. She had released her apology on May 10 on social media.
