After 104 infant deaths in Kota hospital: Centre readies team for Kota

New Delhi: The opposition leaders BSP Supremo Mayawati and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi and the AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for not visiting the JK Lon Hospital at Kota in Rajasthan, where 104 infants death occurred.

The leaders questioned why Priyanka was not visited the Kota hospital, where childrens died in the hospital while undergoing treatment, with the negligence of hospital staff. The Congress ruling state Rajasthan is not taking care on the hospital. The Congress leaders are showing sympathy and visiting the families of the anti-CAA agitation deaths. It is very sad that the Congress General Secretary is keeping mum on the deaths of 104 childrens in the Kota hospital, said Mayawati.

She would have met the mothers of the childrens who have died in the hospital, due to apathy of the Government of her party in the state, she said in a tweet on Thursday. The UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Priyanka have gone their instead of “Playing politics” in UP. Other BJP leaders also targeted the Congress Government in Rajasthan over the104 infant deaths in December at JK Lon hospital in Kota.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in his tweet on Thursday said the death should not be politicized and invited Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan to visit hospital and see the “Best” facilities offered there. He also said that his Government is sensitive to the issue of death of sick infants at the Kota Hospital. We will try to reduce it further. It is our top priority that mothers and childrens remain in good health, said in his tweet.

The Centre has decided to send a high-level team comprising experts from AIIMS, Jodhpur and health economists to Kota. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla who is an MP from Kota had also expressed concern.
