Hyderabad: The Telugu Music fraternity has decided to come together for a virtual concert to pay tribute to the Legendary Playback Singer S.P. Balasubramaniam on October 11th through YouTube.

Over 30 Telugu singers will perform at a virtual concert for over 12 hours, which will stream across 20 countries in different time zones. The concert will stream on YouTube and will include popular singers, including K.S. Chitra, Geetha Madhuri, Revanth and Hema Chandra among others.

Sandeep Gudi, who runs a Hyderabad based event Management Company, is organizing the virtual concert, the proceeds of which will go to all the musicians who have been affected by Covid- 19 pandemic. SPB has fans across the world including countries like US, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia and UAE etc, said Sandeep.

So we decided to host a virtual concert that can be watched by the audiences across the world. It was challenging to accommodate singers to perform for different time zones but we managed to pull it off. Singer cum Composer R.P. Patnaik, who was a student of SPB, was the one who took the initiate to setup the virtual concert.

Due to the Covid- 19 pandemic many small time musicians in the industry have been out of work for over six months. Infact, many are leaving the industry and looking for other alternatives to make ends meet. As members of Telugu Music Industry, it’s our responsibility to protect our Music family, shares Patnaik, adding if Balu Anna were alive today, he too have done something to raise funds for the musicians and he continues to inspire us.

We will reach out to over 3K musicians from the industry and that will be the ultimate tribute to the singing legend.
