
AP Takes Over Praja Vedika
Vijayawada: AP Government took over the Praja Vedika, the building adjacent to the residence of former Chief Minister N. Chandra Babu Naidu in Undavalli. The YSRCP alleged that the building was an illegal construction on the Krishna river bed, when it is in a opposition. Officials from the state GAD, revenue wing of Guntur district and CRDA went to Praja Vedika on Friday afternoon and formally took over the premises. AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will hold his first collectors conference on Monday at Praja Vedika.
The government owned Praja Vedika was used by the then CM Chandra Babu who hold meetings with officials. Officials from the state GAD, revenue wing of Guntur district and CRDA went to Praja Vedika on Friday afternoon and formally took over the premises. After the elections Chandra Babu has been using Praja Vedika for party activities and to meet party workers coming from various parts of the state. The GAD and CRDA officials asked the TDP leaders to vacant the building and take away their materials and other belongings.
Government sources said that though it was initially decided to hold Monday’s collectors conference at the conference hall in the fifth block of the secretariat, due to space constrains. It decided to take over Praja Vedika and hold the conference.
The building take over happened when Chandra Babu is away in Euro on a holiday. Mr. Naidu return a letter to Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy after election seeking permission to use the premises to carry of his duties as leader of the opposition.
