Three capitals Amaravathi, Kurnool and Vizag for AP: Jagan
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy hinted that three capitals for Andhra Pradesh to serve the purpose of decentralization of development. Speaking in the Assembly on Tuesday, during a short discussion on existing capital Amaravathi in the Assembly.
He said that the three capitals are at Amaravathi, Kurnool and Vishakhapatnam. Legislative capital is at Amaravathi, Judicial capital at Kurnool and Executive capital at Vishakhapatnam, he said. Due to our financial resources and for the developmental aspects we need three capitals in Andhra Pradesh, he added. The previous Government has estimated Rs. One Lakh and Nine Thousand, but in last five years the then Government spend only Rs. Five Thousand Crores.
He also said two committees were formed, one is an expert committee and another is BCG Global Consultancy. The two committees will submit reports within a week and then clarity would come up for the future plan. The Government is paying the interest of Rs. 700 crores every year on the loans borrowed for Amaravathi by the then Government, he said. He also explained that there are three capitals in South Africa.
