Assembly will Pass a Resolution Against CAA: KCR
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandra Sekhar Rao in the assembly on Saturday in his address said that when I myself don’t have a birth certificate, how can I produce my father’s certificate.
In his reply to the discussion on the motion of thanks to the governor’s address in the Telangana Assembly on Saturday. he re-iterated his government’s intent to pass a resolution against the CAA and the NPR. Referring to the NPR’s new format, to be rolled out from April 1st, he asked his rhetorical question.
I was born in my house in the village, he said, maintaining the matter was of concern to him as well. At that time there was no hospitals in the villages, the village elder to write a Janma Nama which carried no official seal. Being a Chief Minister, I can’t produce my birth certificate, how will the dalits, tribals and the poor produce their certificates, he questioned.
The CAA is against the fabric of the constitution of India which promises to treat all citizens equally, irrespective of their religion, caste and creed, he felt. He promised that the house will thoroughly debate on the CAA and NPR and pass a resolution to send a strong message to the country as it relates to the country’s future, its constitution and its stature in the world.
We are part of this country. We will not keep quiet. We will do whatever we can in our limits. We will not be afraid of any body.
