Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu to Be Party’s Lok Sabha Leader
New Delhi: Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu appointed as the leader of the house in Lok Sabha for congress party on Thursday. He was appointed in place of Adhir Ranjan Chowdary, for the ongoing budget session of parliament. Congress MP Ranveet Singh Bittu will be incharge of the party’s strategy in the lower house as deputy leader of the Congress in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi will also be busy with elections in Assam.
Adhir Ranjan Chowdary is the Bengal PCC Chief; he will be tied up with the elections campaigning for the next two months. Ranveet Singh Bittu was elected three times as MP from Punjab’s Anandpur Sahib Constituency in 2009 and from Ludhiana in 2014 and 2019.
Ranveet Singh Bittu, the grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh who was assassinated in 1995, was appointed whip of the Congress in the Lok Sabha in August. A youth leader from Punjab, he was the first leader to be elected in the Punjab Youth Congress through the democratic elections which Rahul Gandhi introduced.
