
Covid-19 Cases 9152 in India, Deaths Toll Reaches 300
New Delhi: As per the union health ministry sources India reached the Covid-19 cases 9152 in the country on Sunday. Within 24 hours Covid-19 cases recorded 796 and deaths happened in one day 39, the total deaths in the country are touched 300.
Most Covid-19 cases affected in the states i.e., Maharashtra (1,985), Delhi (1,154), Tamil Nadu (1,075), Rajasthan (804) and Madhya Pradesh (532) ad Gujarat (516). In Delhi, 10 new corona virus hotspots were announced on Sunday evening, taking the total number of hotspots in the national capital to 43. More than one-third of the total number of corona virus cases in India is linked to a religious gathering in Delhi last month, which has been identified as a hotspot for the spread of the highly contagious corona virus.
According to Johns Hopkins University tally, the United States recorded 1,514 deaths related to the corona virus pandemic over the past 24 hours. The US also leads the world by far in the number of confirmed infections, with 5,55,313 cases by the Baltimore-based university’s count. In Mumbai, a COVID-19 hotpot, 15 fresh corona virus cases have been reported from Dharavi, one of Asia’s largest slums, taking the total to 43, including four deaths. At least a million people live here in 5 square kilo metres and five to six people share a single room.
Delhi has identified three new corona virus hotspots; it was announced late Saturday night. This takes the total number up to 33. Strict containment measures are being taken in these hotspots, which includes a complete ban on people leaving their homes. The national capital has recorded the second highest number of cases in the country (1,069) after Maharashtra with 1,761 cases including 127 deaths.
Union Health Ministry Joint Secretary, said in a press briefing on Sunday that the number of corona virus cases in India would have shot up to 8.2 lakh by April 15, the government said on Saturday, if a countrywide shutdown was not enforced. “According to a statistical analysis by us, India would have registered a 41 per cent cumulative rise in the number of cases, taking the total to 2.08 lakh on April 11 and 8.2 lakh by April 15 had there been no lockdown or other containment measures.”
