Democratic and Republican party leaders challenging on each other with China business links
Washington: Democratic and Republican party operatives battered each others’ leadership on Tuesday with allegations of financial shenanigans involving business ties with China. A day before the third Presidential debate, an NYT report claimed President Trump had business ties with China that required him to open a hitherto unknown bank account in China.
As per the report, Trump spent a decade unsuccessfully perusing projects in China, operating an office there during his first run for President and forging a partnership with Government runfirm. China is one of only three foreign nations the others are the UK and Ireland where Trump maintains a bank account, according to a media analysis of the President’s tax records. The foreign accounts do not show up on his public financial disclosures. The Chinese account is controlled by Trump International Hotels Management LLC, which the tax records show paid $ 188, 561 in taxes in China while pursing licensing deals there from 2013 to 2015.
No deals, transactions or other business activities ever materialized and since 2015, the office remained inactive, said a lawyer for the Trump organization. Trump and his associates, meanwhile, complained that the media is being soft on investigation his rival Joe Biden & his son’s business ties with China. They zeroed in on an NYT report that highlights documents purporting to show Hunter Biden’s dealings in Ukraine and China. Most of the media has been leery about confirming of media article’s contents that came from a laptop which, regardless of the authenticity, is widely seen as having been nefariously acquired by a Republican dirty tricks departments.
The spat over China links came amid reports of voter intimidation from both sides less than two weeks short of the November 3 elections. Trumps supporters in New Hampshire reported receiving menacing letters threatening arson if he loses the election and refuses to concede. On the other side of the country, votes in Alaska and Florida reported receiving threatening “Vote for Trump” emails, purported from proud boys, a Trump supporting extremist group.
