Harish Rao gave priority to villages in the Budget-2020-21

Hyderabad: Telangana Finance Minister T. Harish Rao presented Maiden budget on Sunday for the year 2020-21 budget in the Assembly. The total outlay of the budget is 1, 82, 914. 42 crores. Harish Rao showed Revenue Expenditure is 1, 38, 669. 82 crores, while the Capital Expenditure is 22, 061. 18 crores.

In his address in the Assembly on budget, he said that the Government is directly allocating funds to strengthen the Gram Panchayats. The Government is providing the matching funds to that provided by the Centre as well as the Finance Commission funds. Under the MGNREG Scheme, a monthly Rs. 65 crores will be allocated. The Minister also said the proposal of Rs. 23, 005 crores for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development. Another Rs. 14, 809 crores is for the Municipal Department, besides the monthly Rs. 148 crores for the development of towns and cities.

Under the Urban Mission Bhagiratha Scheme, we proposing Rs.800 crores for the remaining Municipalities, Harish Rao said. He also said the budget priorities are Panchayat Raj, Municipal Administration, Irrigation, Education and the Health sector. And as well as the Government’s prestigious schemes such as the construction of double bed room houses and the Rythu Bandhu programmes.
