New Delhi: Covid- 19 cases in India increasing gradually day by day, the now the Covid- 19 cases registered in India 20, 083and deaths 684 on Tuesday. India became the world’s 17^th country to reach 20K Covid- 19 cases, crossing the grim milestone on a day.

Maharashtra, Rajasthan and West Bengal recorded their single day rise in infections. There was a spike in deaths as well, with 49 on Tuesday. The total number of cases stood at 20, 083 late on Tuesday, as per reports from states, having risen by 1493 during the day. It is the second daily rise after Sunday’s spike of 1613 cases. Mumbai alone recorded 419 cases and 12 deaths on Tuesday.

Covid- 19 cases registered on Tuesday, Rajasthan 159 and West Bengal 53 also saw the sharpest spike for the respective states. Gujarat recorded 239 cases, which has emerged as the biggest Covid- 19 hotspot after Maharashtra, crossed the 2, 000 mark in number of cases and over took Delhi to claim the number two spot in the Country. Compared to 35 days taken by Maharashtra and 45 by Delhi, only the two other Indian states with more than 2K cases, Gujarat reached the grim milestone in 34 days.
