India will exceed Paris Accord targets: Modi at G20 meet

New Delhi: We will meet our goal of 175 Giga Watts of a renewable energy well before the target of 2022, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India has set itself an ambitious target of generating 450 Giga Watts of renewable energy by 2030.

Modi addressing G20 leaders on circular carbon economy approach, he said India would not only meet its Paris Accord targets, but exceed them. The ISA is the fastest growing international alliance with 88 countries having signed up so far. With plans to mobilize billions of dollars to train thousands of stakeholders, and promote research and development in renewable energy, the ISA will contribute to reducing carbon foot print, said Modi.
