
Jagan said each district must have one testing facility
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the official to establish a testing facility in each district. He convened a review a meeting on Sunday in his camp office with Chief Secretary Neelam Sawhney, DGP Gautham Sawang, Special Chief Secretary for Health Jawahar Reddy and other officials.
He asked the official to complete testing of all attendees of the religious congregation in New Delhi and their primary contacts on a war footing. He also said testing of secondary contacts should be taken up next, all the while continuing door to door survey to identify potential suspects and foreign returnees. He further directed them to conduct random testing in the red zones. The officials explained him that they launched cluster based random testing at Vishakhapatnam to access the spread of the virus.
All the red zones in Vishakhapatnam have been divided into eight clusters and 20 random samples from each cluster are being sent for tests. They also said that so far all the samples have tested negative. CM Jagan said to the officials to ensure that the isolation wards are setup in all hospitals, including the private hospitals across the state and keep them and standby to utilize them whenever the need arises.
The entire administration should be ready to deal with fresh guidelines to be issued by the Union Government after April 14th, said Jagan.
