Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath resigned from his post hours before a floor test on Friday mandated by the Supreme Court. The Kamal Nath’s Government had been teetering on the verge of collapse after Jyothiraditya Scindia rebelled over a Rajya Sabha seat and joined the BJP.

22 MLAs of Scindia’s group including six Ministers revolt against Kamal Nath and stayed in a camp at Bengaluru and resigned for the post of MLAs. The strength of ruling Congress has reduced to 92, after the resignation of 22 Congress MLAs. The BJP has 107 MLAs in the house. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath submitted his resignation to the Governor Lalji Tondon at Raj Bhavan. Speaking to the media persons Kamal Nath said that he wanted that the Congress should not go to the palace, but the palace should come to palace (referring to Scindia).

A Maharaj’s hunger for power led to the collapse of my Government, he remarked while taking a dig at Scindia for leaving the Congress, leading to the resignation of his loyalists from house.
