
A Migrant Worker Carried Two Children on Kavadi, by Walk to Chattisgarh
Kurnool: A 40 year old migrant worker walked with his two children from Andhra Pradesh to Chattisgarh at a distance of 1300 kms, by putting his two little kids on an improvised weighing basket and balancing them with a poll on his shoulder.
According to the Tirupati police, a Bihari had walked from Kadapa till Kurnool when he was stopped by a cop who helped him with cash and got him a ride on truck heading towards Hyderabad a few days ago. Carrying on a shoulder poll or milkmaid’s yoke was once a common mode of carrying a load on shoulders in India called Kavadi, they were quite popular in Telugu states from the mythology of Ramayanam.
One family of eight members with two children walking on Adoni Emmiganoor road on May 15th, the entire group started journey from Kadapa and was heading to Chattisgarh on foot. The police gave to the migrant’s food, drinking water, biscuits and some cash.
