A mother named newly born baby as “Border”

Gorakhpur: A migrant labour couple named their newly born baby as “Border” on Saturday. While the couple returning from Nepal to their native place Chalaprithvipurva village in Bahraich district in Uttar Pradesh, the woman got labour pains in the mid way near Sonauli the entry point from Nepal.

During the tussle between India and Nepal on the territorial dispute at Kalapani, a new born baby in flesh and blood on no man’s land between the two countries near Sonauli in Uttar Pradesh. According to the sources, border’s mother a migrant woman from U.P’s Bahraich, had gone into labour work while queuing up to cross over to Maharajgunj district on the Indian side through the Sonauli entry point from Nepal. The woman Jamtara’s husband supported by other women queue, helped deliver the baby.

Mother and son were taken to the community health centre at Nautanwa in Maharajgunj, where both are said to be doing well. The new mother apparently decided on the spot to name her fourth child “Border”. Mother and child are healthy. She has two older daughters and a son, said Nautanwa CHC staff nurse Amisha Williams. The couple both workers in brick kiln at Nawalparasi in Nepal was returning home due to the lock down. Police arranged an ambulance to take the mother and child to the nearest health centre.
