
73rd Independence Celebrations: Modi Announced CDS
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day address from red fort here on Thursday, said that to co-ordinate the three Army chiefs are creating a special post. Chief of Defence Staff, the CDS is the co-coordinator between Prime Minister and the three Army Chiefs, he said. This announcement comes after the 19 years. The Idea was first proposed in the aftermath of the Kargil conflict of 1999.
The CDS will bring greater integration and co-ordination among the Army, Navy and Air force too effectively to respond all external affairs. The chief of the army staff Gen. Bipin Rawat could be the Chief of Defence Staff, it is learnt. Prime Minister indicated that the three service chiefs might report to the CDS saying that there would be an effective leadership to guide the services.
The Prime Minister said that we have decided that after formation of this post all the three forces will get effective leadership at the top level. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the Tri-Colour flag at Red Fort on the occasion of 73rd Independence Day on Thursday. He conveyed the nation about his 70 days ruling, the second term. He brings Triple Talak Bill and also abrogation of Article 370 of Jammu and Kashmir etc.
He also said that the importance of the family planning with only for two children, Jal Shakti ministry and farmers welfare.
