
CBI Court convicted three years jail to ex- Minister Dilip Ray in coal scam
New Delhi: A CBI Special Court in Delhi sentenced former Union Minister Dilip Ray to three years imprisonment and fined him Rs. 10 lakhs for his role in the illegal allocation of Brahmadiha coal block in Jharkhand state to Bokaro based company in 1999.
The Ex- Junior Coal Minister in the Vajpayee Government had been convicted of criminal conspiracy, cheating, corruption and breach of trust on October 6th along with two former Coal Ministry officials Pradeep Kumar Benerjee and Nithyananda Gautam. The beneficiaries for Castron Technologies LTD, its director Mahendra Kumar Agarwala and other company called Castron Mining LTD were also guilty of multiple offences, including theft. The Court fined Rs. 60 lakhs CTL and Rs. 10 lakhs for CML.
