Dismiss my Government for opposing CAA and NRC: Mamatha

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamatha Benerjee challenged the Central Government on Monday to dismiss her Government for opposing the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state.

   The Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamatha Benerjee led a protest rally from B.R. Ambedkar statue on Red Road to Jorasanko on Chitharanjan Avenue on Monday by demanding by the role back of the CAA and NRC. She clarified that even out of power she would not allow the CAA and NRC to be effective at any cost in the state. She declared that if the Central Government continued to implement the CAA and NRC in West Bengal, it would have to do so over her ‘dead body’. Reposing her faith in the state police she also revealed that she rejected the Modi Government’s offer of Central Paramilitary forces to tackle the violence in districts which entered its fourth day. She also advised the BJP to take steps to control the situation in New Delhi, Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya, she claimed in her address in a rally.

    She said that we will not accept the CAA and NRC. What will you do? Will you dismiss our Government? Do it then. Throw me away too. But we will not surrender to you. She compared the CAA and NRC is same side of a lollipop. We will continue out movement until they are withdrawn.
