
Jammu & Kashmir’s Upper House abolished
Srinagar: The Jammu & Kashmir Government formally abolished the State Legislative Council on Thursday. The 36 membered Legislative Council formed in 1959 under Section 50 Act of the Jammu & Kashmir Constitution.
The Government asked the Legislative Council staff to report to the General Administration Department by October 22nd. The Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Council currently having 22 sitting members including BJP-10, PDP-08 and one for each National Conference and Congress.
