
KCR orders CID probe on the fire accident at Srisailam hydalpower plant
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao ordered a CID probe on Friday into the fire accident at Srisailam hydalpower station. CID Additional Director General Govind Singh was appointed as inquiry officer to probe into the cause of accident and submit a report to the Government.
CM expression deep shock over the loss of nine lives in the incident, he said the probe must find the circumstances that led to the accident and also the reasons behind it. Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar issued orders appointing Govind Singh as the inquiry officer. The CM said that the incident as the most unfortunate, those trapped inside could not be rescued despite best efforts. He offered condolences to the members of the bereaved families and wished speedy recovery to those who managed to escape and were undergoing treatment.
He also directed the officials to provide treatment to the injured at Government’s cost. The CM was in regular touch with Energy Minister G. Jagadish Reddy and TS GENCO and TS TRANSCO CMD D. Prabhakar Rao, who rushed to the spot along with senior officials. KCR also ordered another three probes on the incident i.e. fire safety officers committee, electrical officers committee and local police inquiry committee.
