National Conference filed a petition on Prez orders in Supreme Court

New Delhi: A political party National Conference of Jammu and Kashmir challenged the Union Government’s decision of abrogating the Article 370 and 35A, which is conferring autonomous to the state.

  The National Conference MP’s Mohammed Akbar Lone and Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi filed a Writ Petition in the Supreme Court to scrap the Presidential order. They said in a petition that the abrogating of Article 370 and 35A have taken away rights of its citizens without their mandate. And also said that the Presidential order was unconstitutional and they prayed Supreme Court to be declared the Government’s order as void and inoperative. Mr. Masoodi is a retired Judge of Jammu & Kashmir High Court who ruled that the Article 370 was a permanent feature of the Constitution in 2015.
