Opposition meets President over CAA
New Delhi: The opposition parties met President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday, on the violences spread in the country against CAA. The opposition leaders requested the President to withdraw the CAA.
The Congress President Sonia Gandhi and other opposition leaders urged the President to intervene over the violence at Central Universities. The parties included the Congress, SP, TMC, CPI (m), CPI and RJD. They gave a memorandum to President saying that how the Government was in a hurry to enact the law. Congress President Sonia Gandhi accused the Modi Government of’ shutting down’ people’s voices and bringing laws that were not applicable to them. She also said that the representatives of 12 different political parties met the President and pleads to intervene in the issue.
