
All trains in the country to come to halt on March 22nd
New Delhi: The Indian Railways suspended all train services in India for a day in view of the “Janata Curfew” on Sunday. The railways took the decision on the basis of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of “Janata Curfew” to stop the spreading of Covid-19.
Indian Railways suspended all mail and express trains will stop services from 4 am to 10 pm on Sunday. While all sub-urban train services will be reduced to a bare minimum as well. All passenger trains originating between midnight of March 21st / March 22nd to 10 pm of March 22nd (approximately 2400 services) shall not be run. However the passenger services already on run at 7 am hours on the day will be allowed to run the destinations.
Divisions should keep a watch and trains which are empty should be short terminated, if required, according to the railway source order. The country’s largest airline by flights Indigo has decided to operate only 25 % of its services, Go Air has voluntarily suspended all flights on March 22nd.
