Uddhav Thackeray to be Maharashtra CM
Mumbai: The Siva Sena, NCP and Congress parties announced Uddhav Thackeray is the Chief Minister of Maharashtra under the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi. Siva Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar and State Congress Chief Bala Saheb Thorat and others participated in a meeting on Tuesday and decided Uddhav Thackeray is the Chief Ministerial candidate of tri-parties.
NCP leader Jayanth Patil proposed the name of Uddhav Thackeray as a Chief Minister, the State Congress Chief Bala Saheb Thorat seconded the proposal. NCP leader Sharad Pawar, party senior leaders Praful Patel, Congress leader Ashok Chavan, Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana’s Raju Shetty, SP’s Abu Azmi and the MLAs of all three parties attended the meeting.
After the proposal of his candidature for the post of Chief Minister, Thackeray said that opposition parties had shown more trust in him than the party with which he was allied for nearly 30 years. He also conveyed special word of thanks for the NCP Chief Sharad Pawar and Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi. Lashing out at his former BJP ally for its “Hatred towards its party”, he said. Whenever there was a necessity they sought the Siva Sena’s support, but they did not hesitate to abandon the Sena there had no need for us, he added.
Mr. Thackeray clearly said that his Government will not act against anyone with vengeance, but no one should create hurdles for us. Those who were friends for 30 years did not trust us, but those against whom we fought 30 years have trusted me, he said. He also thanked Soniaji and parties with different ideology have come together.
