West Bengal Governor unveiled Vajpayee’s portrait at Raj Bhavan

Kolkata: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dankhar unveiled Vajpayee’s Portrait at the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary celebration, at the throne room in Raj Bhavan at 11.00 am on Wednesday. He also invited West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Supremo Mamatha Benerjee to unveil the portrait of Vajpayee’s.

West Bengal Governor invited Mamatha Benerjee to unveil the portrait of Vajpayee’s along with him, but Mamatha Benerjee was absent at the event. “I told her I was awaiting your response, unfortunately there was no response. I can appreciate there can be situations where on a particular day she may not be able to spare time”, Mr. Dankhar said.

However West Bengal Chief Minister Mamatha Benerjee paid respects to the ex- Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee on twitter. In her twitter “Tributes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji on his birth anniversary. He was a statesman who rose above partisan politics for the Country’s good. We miss him a lot”, she tweeted. Governor Dankhar observed that the former PM had contributed immensely to the Trinamool Chief’s political career once.
