New Delhi: There is no restriction or ban on filling up of posts in the Government clarified Union Ministry of Finance on Saturday. Normal recruitment through various agencies such as SSC selections, RRB will continue as usual without any curbs.
The clarification puts at rest any apprehension over a blanket ban on Government jobs. The Department of Expenditure Circular dated 4th September 2020, deals with internal procedure for creation of posts and does not in any way affect or curtail recruitment, said the Finance Ministry in a twitter. The clarifications were in response to a Department of Expenditure Order to all Ministries and Departments, attached officers, sub-ordinate offices, statutory bodies and autonomous bodies except with approval of the Department.
The ban, according to the order, will cover all creation of posts under powers which have been relegated to any organization regardless of the source of such authority or power. If any posts have been created after July 1st 2020, under delegated power or authority without approval from the Department of Expenditure and have not yet been filled, then such posts shall not be filled, the Department of Expenditure had said while unveiling fresh austerity measures on Friday. The order has triggered apprehension that there would be a ban on recruitment for Government jobs at a time when there is a need to create employment.
