Opposition parties protests against Kerala Governor in Assembly

Thiruvananthapuram: The opposition Congress led UDF staged a high protest and boycott the Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Wednesday. The Governor read out references to anti-CAA resolution passed by the House in his address in the Assembly on Wednesday.

Governor Arif Mohammed Khan said that he was not affected by the opposition Congress led UDF protest against him in Assembly. He had seen even bigger protests while he was member of Legislative Assembly, said Governor to media persons. The next big political attack against the Governor is coming up in the form of opposition Congress resolution to seek ‘Governor’s recall’. The Congress led UDF given a notice to Speaker for moving resolution will come up before Assembly Business Advisory Committee meeting on Friday.

The Speaker said that the notice was admissible the final decision on resolution will depend on the stand to be taken by the leader of the house P. Vijayan. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister A.K. Balan criticized the opposition Legislators for attempting to block Governor in House. These types of actions were being done by the opposition out of desperation, he said. The Governor expressing his disagreement before reading out the paragraph on CAA issue was just a formality, it will not go on record of the house, he said.
